The law governing automobile accidents is based on state statutes and on state case law. Laws regarding liability, compensation for property damage, and personal injury damages can be complex and do not easily lend themselves to simple descriptions. Similarly, statutes governing various aspects of automobile accidents - including regulation of insurance companies - can be technical and somewhat complex. Automobile accident law varies from state to state; laws you may have been familiar with in one state may not be the same for Maryland.
